On February 21, 2019, the start-up meeting of China's first km high temperature superconducting cable demonstration project was held in Shanghai Baoshan City Industrial Park, marking the official start of superconducting cable industrialization in China. Shanghai Superconductor has become one of the main suppliers of superconducting materials for the demonstration project.

At 9: 00 a.m. on August 15, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal CPC Committee, Mayor Ying Yong and other leaders came to the company to investigate the development and market application of superconducting technology. Zhou Bo, Executive Vice Mayor, Tang Zhiping, Secretary General of the Municipal Government, Ma Chunlei, Deputy Secretary General of the Municipal Government, Shi Erwei, Executive Deputy Director of the Office of Shanghai Zhangjiang Comprehensive National Science Center, and other relevant leaders accompanied the investigation. Chairman Qiu Wei, Vice President Hong Zhiyong and Vice President Zhao Yue warmly received Ying Yong and other leaders, accompanied by Mao Junfa, vice president of Shanghai Jiaotong University, and Jin Zhijian, professor of Shanghai Jiaotong University.

From August 15 to 17, 2018 Shanghai High temperature Superconductor Conference (Shanghai High-Temperature Superconductor Conference 2018, ShHTS 2018) was held at Shanghai Xingguo Hotel. The conference was co-sponsored by (SJTU) of Shanghai Jiaotong University and (SST) of Shanghai Superconducting Technology Co., Ltd., and co-sponsored by (CSSJ) of Japan Cryogenic Engineering and Superconductor Society. The conference was attended by nearly 100 domestic and foreign superconducting experts, scholars and industrialists, including winners of the National Thousand talents Plan, national outstanding youth, academicians of the American Academy of Sciences, etc., and jointly discussed the latest research achievements in the field of high temperature superconductivity and the development direction of industrialization in the future. The long-term development and ideas of high temperature superconducting industry are exchanged.
