On April 20, the world's first megawatt high-temperature superconducting induction heating device developed by Jiangxi Lianchuang Optoelectronic Superconducting Application Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Lianchuang Superconductor") was successfully put into operation in Northeast Light Alloy Co., Ltd., Heilongjiang Aluminum Corporation of China. With the use of HTS materials, the device realized the characteristics of super-strong magnetic field of large diameter magnets at 20K temperature zone which can achieve the heating of large size metal workpiece with high penetration depth, high energy efficiency, high uniformity and temperature gradient control. It fully verifies the stability and reliability of core key technologies such as superconducting magnets and rotary heating, indicating that Chinese superconducting hot working technology has achieved a major breakthrough in the world and realized subversive alternative applications in metal hot working industry.

The research on high-temperature superconducting induction heating technology in China has ten years of technology innovation and accumulation. It was led by Lianchuang Optoelectronics in 2013 and jointly developed by Beijing Jiaotong University and Shanghai Superconductor. As the core material supplier, Shanghai Superconductor supplied all tape products in the preliminary R&D and in the first megawatt high temperature superconducting induction heating device.

The high-temperature superconducting induction heating device of Lianchuang Superconductor is the first HTS product to achieve mass production in the world. Lianchuang Superconductor is also the first enterprise in the world to purchase quantitative HTS tapes on a monthly basis for a single model. At present, Shanghai Superconductor has finished the supply of 100km HTS tapes. According to the strategic cooperation agreement between the two parties, we will continue to supply high performance superconductor tapes in bulk in the future to facilitate the implementation of the two-carbon strategy in the hot metal processing industry and other fields.
